Welterweight contender Marcos Maidana joins an elite prizefighting stable and immediately enrolls into an ESL program. Maidana finalized the contract with high-powered advisor Al Haymon early Wednesday morning.
Haymon’s stable of fighters includes Floyd Mayweather Jr., Adrien Broner and Danny Garcia.
Maidana was officially jumped into the “Haymon Family” by stable mates Lucas Matthysse, Seth Mitchell and Chris Arreola.
After the initiation, Haymon signed Maidana up for English as a second language classes to enhance the Argentinian slugger’s earning potential.
Maidana (34-3, 31 KOs) is expected to challenge WBA welterweight titleholder Adrien Broner (27-0, 22 KOs) on November 9 and is eager to give Broner an English lesson as well.
“November 9 won’t be fun for Broner. He will learn to speak English correctly when his mouth meets my fists,” said Maidana through his interpreter Mr. Fuji.
Haymon says before the fight can be finalized, Broner must enroll in EFL classes.
“Before we make the fight Adrien must take some English as a first language classes,” said Haymon.
“That motherfucker needs to learn how to speak The English.”
